BPSC Assistant Prosecution Officer Exam Pattern 2025

The BPSC Assistant Prosecution Officer (APO) exam features a comprehensive structure designed to assess candidates’ legal knowledge and analytical abilities across three stages: Preliminary Examination, Mains Examination, and Interview. The Preliminary exam is an objective-type test comprising two papers—General Studies and Law—with 100 questions each, a total of 200 marks, and a duration of 2 hours per paper. The Mains is a descriptive written examination with seven papers, including General Studies, Hindi, English, Indian Penal Code, Indian Evidence Act, Code of Criminal Procedure, and other relevant laws, collectively amounting to 900 marks. Candidates qualifying both written stages are invited for a viva voce (interview) of 100 marks, which evaluates personality and suitability for the APO role.
